- Woodinville-born Locust Cider is expanding to Colorado. The company will add a cidery and taproom in Boulder this summer. The Boulder spot will join the company’s current locations in Seattle, Tacoma, and Fort Worth.
- Serafina and Cicchetti have a new owner in executive chef Christian Chandler. Chandler started at those restaurants as a sauté cook in 2004 and has worked his way through the ranks over the years. He’s made a few minor decor changes, but mostly intends to keep the ambiance and menus the same at both spots.
- Renee Erickson closed the Los Angeles location of her General Porpoise doughnut chain in late March, after just six months in business. Low sales led to the closing, but Erickson is leaving open the possibility of trying again elsewhere in LA at some point.
- Mutsuko Soma, skilled soba chef and owner of Seattle’s Kamonegi, landed on Food and Wine’s list of Best New Chefs for 2019. She joins an illustrious collection of rising stars around the country.
