Locally owned Chinese chainlet Dough Zone Dumpling House is bestowing new locations upon downtown Seattle and Kirkland. The Seattle restaurant will open as soon as this summer at 9th and Pine, taking the place of Sansei Seafood Restaurant and Sushi Bar, which closed recently. Kirkland diners can start consuming massive amounts of Dough Zone’s pillowy dumplings by year’s end; that restaurant is opening in the new Kirkland Urban development, along with a Shake Shack burger spot.

Each Dough Zone location serves the same menu of specialties like xiao long bao, or soup dumplings, and their cousins, crispy-yet-juicy pan-fried pork buns, plus various noodle dishes, rotating varieties of congee, appetizers like green onion pancakes, and a few desserts like red bean bao.
Dough Zone — which made the Eater list of 38 Essential Seattle Restaurants — has captivated the city since 2014, when it opened its first restaurant on the Eastside. These new locations will mark the company’s sixth and seventh outposts.
