Two Washington winemakers, Delille Cellars and Sparkman Cellars, are moving all of their Woodinville operations — tasting rooms, event spaces, and winemaking — to the sprawling former Redhook Brewery property. For its part, Delille is eyeing a fall opening, while Sparkman says it’s still going through the permitting process and doesn’t yet have a clear opening timeline.
Delille will occupy a whopping 30,000 square feet, with a combination of space for retail, events, offices, and winemaking, plus a three-story retail tower. The site will also have a pretty fantastic-sounding rooftop deck with a view of Mount Rainier, but it will be available only to wine club members and their guests. Non-members will have access to things like tours, tastings, seminars, and an outdoor patio on the main level.
Delille plans to continue operating its Carriage House tasting room in the Hollywood District until the new Redhook location opens; its closed its winemaking facility on Woodinville Drive. Even after those two properties close, Delillle will maintain its Kirkland wine lounge, Maison Delille, and Delille Cellars Chateau events venue.
Sparkman’s new digs will include an “intimate tasting room, a wraparound outdoor patio with fire pits, a grand event hall with a vaulted ceiling, multiple private event spaces, and an expanded production facility.” Sparkman’s 30,000 square feet will allow it to offer flights of wines, library and reserve tastings, private barrel samplings, seminars, live music, and a menu of small bites.
Once it opens its new Redhook venue, Sparkman will close its tasting room in the Warehouse District. The winery’s Hollywood District tasting room will remain open.
Redhook departed its Woodinville facility in 2017, moving to its new Brewlab space on Capitol Hill. The 20-acre plot was then purchased for $24.5 million by Sound Commercial Investment Holdings, a real-estate holding company. The two wineries will share the building with outlandish dinner theater group Teatro Zinzanni.
