A new wine bar in South Lake Union’s 400 Fairview building — home to respected restaurants like MBar and Kai Market — will pour wines based on a seasonal theme. The Associated Vintners Tasting Room and Wine Bar, which opened last week, is starting off with canned wines, which are popular for boating and picnicking, through the end of September.
The wine bar is owned by Precept Wine, the Northwest’s largest privately owned wine company. The company’s labels include House Wine, Browne Family Vineyards, Gruet, Waterbrook Winery, Canoe Ridge Vineyard, and Cavatappi Winery. The company also owns Browne Family Vineyards Tasting Room, which opened in Pioneer Square in 2018.
Looking past summer, the tasting room plans to highlight Pacific Northwest producers next, and will pour sparkling wines closer to the holidays. Wine bar patrons will form a sort of focus group for the company to measure trends and get feedback on new wines.
