Anticipation for the new NFL season always builds up an appetite. So with the Seahawks set to play their first preseason game tomorrow night at CenturyLink Field (against the Broncos), it’s good to hear the venue continues to step up its game in the food department, with new concessions joining the fray. This year, heavy hitting Mexican chain Taco Time appears in section 116 serving up its popular tacos, chicken chili, burritos, and crustos, while Pecos Pit BBQ — on Eater Seattle’s list of best barbecue restaurants — holds down the fort in section 105, slinging chopped beef and pork sandwiches, along with its signature spicy baked beans. They join sophomore standouts, such as Manu’s Tacos and Thai Curry Simple, making for a pretty killer lineup overall.

There’s also a new executive chef in charge. Matteo Casini (who’s worked in the culinary industry for 24 years and had been the sous chef at CenturyLink since 2016) got the big promotion, bringing a sensibility for local favorites. In that regard, hungry fans should look out for Oberto hot links with cider-infused sauerkraut at all the Seattle Dog locations in the stadium, as well as tender shaved beef cheesesteaks topped with herbed cream cheese, grilled peppers, and onions at the new PNW Grille (section 113).

And new-ish to the fold at the Chicken and Biscuit station is Ezell’s Famous Chicken, served between two biscuits rather than waffles, as it was presented last year. Guess it’s hard to go wrong either way.
