Lower Queen Anne Mexican restaurant, Peso’s Kitchen and Lounge, has closed after 20 years in business. The restaurant, with its generous daily happy hour, pint margaritas, and extensive tequila and mezcal selection, did not provide additional information on the closure. The business’s social media accounts and website are still active.
Peso’s Kitchen and Lounge (605 Queen Anne Ave N) was under the same ownership as neighboring restaurant Toulouse Petit Kitchen and Lounge (601 Queen Anne Avenue N), which focuses on Cajun and Creole cuisine. Toulouse Petit remains open.
In 2016, rumors surfaced that both restaurants may close after the building housing them was sold. Eater spoke to restaurant staff, who dispelled the rumor, and both places stayed open — that is, until Peso’s recent closure.
