Starting this weekend, The Lounge by AT&T in Capitol Hill will transform into Central Perk, the iconic coffee shop from ‘90s TV show Friends, in celebration of the show’s 25th anniversary. The pop-up will kick off with an all-day retrospective on Friends this Sunday, September 29, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Lounge, which opened last year in partnership with local coffee shop Ada’s Discovery Cafe, will be serving coffee drinks and menu items per usual, although they will be renamed to go along with the theme (think: a Buffay Latte, and a Don’t Move to London Fog. See full menu below).
The pop-up (which is free and open to the public) will also have several other Friends activities on Sunday, like an escape room with Friends trivia, a karaoke booth, live music by The Rembrandts (who sang the show’s theme song), and an appearance from actor James Michael Taylor, who played Central Perk’s owner Gunther.
The Lounge is expected to remain transformed as Central Perk through the holidays.
