Two Doors Down Opens Its New Pioneer Square Location

After months of delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Madison Valley’s popular beer bar Two Doors Down finally opens its new Pioneer Square location today with takeout and limited indoor dining. It takes over the spot formerly occupied by Meg’s Hamburgers, and the menu is similar to the original outpost (which is still open): burgers loaded with toppings, such as green chile cream cheese, house-made pickles, hop-garlic mayo, and fried avocado, along with vegetarian options. In addition, there will be some milkshakes available in vanilla, chocolate, and chai flavors, plus 20 rotating beers and cider on tap. It’s all available for takeout, with online ordering and delivery platforms to follow next week.

Hood Famous Cafe and Bar Plans Reopening

One of Seattle’s best ube dessert purveyors is back. The much-buzzed about Filipino coffee shop Hood Famous Cafe and Bar in the International District is officially reopening its doors next week for preorders (no walk-ins or dine-in service). Up until this point, Hood Famous had stuck mainly to retail only, selling its cheesecakes at other restaurants and markets. But now fans can place bulk orders, and get some caffeinated drinks to go along with them, including calamansi espresso tonics and durian white chocolate mochas. In a bid at transparency, the shop also posted its extensive reopening safety guidelines online, aimed at both staff members and customers. A max of two customers are allowed inside at a time, and Hood Famous accepts cashless transactions only.

Belltown’s Vinnie’s Raw Bar Is Now a Natural Wine Shop

A little over a year after opening as a destination for PNW seafood dishes and natural wine, the Belltown spot formerly known as Vinnie’s Raw Bar is leaning into the latter. Navy Strength’s next-door sibling has now reopened as a hybrid wine shop and bar (called Vinnie’s Wine Shop, naturally), with a substantial selection of bottles available for retail. There is still food available (including oysters, mozzarella mac ‘n’ cheese, and charcuterie), which customers can either order for takeout or for outside dining on the new patio. But it appears that wine is the primary focus now (as well as some vinyl record background music). Among some the offerings are Exile (a French sparkling gamay hand harvested in biodynamic vineyards) and Blood & Flowers (a smoky Syrah from California).
