The Eastside was one of the earliest regions in the Seattle area to feel the full impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, with Kirkland suffering a tragic outbreak and Microsoft shutting down its Redmond campus quickly. Many of the amazing restaurants remain resilient, though, even as another ban on indoor dining is implemented, starting November 18 at 12:01 a.m. (outdoor seating is still allowed). Here’s a selection of great spots still focusing on takeout and delivery in Redmond, Woodinville, Kirkland, and Bellevue, listed from west to east. Since services shift often now, call ahead to make sure each restaurant is still open — and if you see any changes, send us a tip.

Excellent Eastside Restaurants Open for Takeout and Delivery
Italian fine-dining, dosas, Taiwanese food, and more

Cafe Juanita
Kirkland’s Northern Italian fine-dining mainstay has launched a takeout service that has its chefs prepare meals with reheating instructions, along with a wine list (the restaurant requests 24 hours notice on orders, and orders can be brought out to diners’ cars). Items include ravioli filled with chanterelles and ricotta, and braised lamb sugo.
Kathakali
Centered around the regional cuisine of Kerala, this South Indian restaurant in Kirkland’s Juanita neighborhood specializes in dosas and tandoor-cooked dishes, as well as an extensive list of vegetarian options. It’s currently open for takeout with curbside pickup and delivery via Caviar, GrubHub, and Uber Eats.
Isarn Thai Soul Kitchen
Right off of Kirkland’s main drag, this restaurant (with a sibling in Lynnwood) is the brainchild of a Thai couple who partnered with friends at venerable Bai Tong to bring inventive Southern Thai cuisine to the area. Dishes like mushroom fritters and the excellent curry with crab and vermicelli are available for takeout with curbside pickup and delivery.
Dakshin South Indian Bistro
The crispy dosas are the real claim to fame at this casual Kirkland restaurant, but the fish and goat curries are also great. It’s now open for takeout, and online ordering through DoorDash.
Araya's Place Bellevue
With two locations in Seattle and one in Bellevue, this Thai restaurant serves up satisfying vegan dishes such as “Drunken Mushroom” — wide rice noodles with portobello, shiitake, and white mushrooms — and avocado curry. Curbside pickup is now available with online preorders.
Facing East
Downtown Bellevue’s destination for inventive Taiwanese fare is known for its Hakka chow fun with dried shrimp, as well as snackable pork bao burgers and a comforting beef noodle soup. Open for takeout and delivery via Chowbus.

Hokkaido Ramen Santouka
The Bellevue location of this respected Japanese chain helped lead the recent ramen boom in Seattle. Menu items are available for takeout or delivery via apps like Caviar.
Castilla Restaurant and Tapas Bar
The Spanish restaurant located in downtown Bellevue offers takeout with curbside pickup on some menu items, including its Brussels sprouts with serrano ham and lentil stew with chorizo and patatas bravas. Open for takeout and delivery via Chow Now.
Din Tai Fung
The two Seattle locations and the Bellevue outpost of this well-known international chain are still open for takeout and no-contact delivery. The xiao long bao (soup dumplings) and shrimp and pork shao mai are some of the most popular choices on the menu.
Hai Di Lao Bellevue
After opening up its first Seattle location downtown at Pacific Place in September, wildly popular international hit Hai Di Lao debuted its newest outpost at Bellevue Pacific Center. The restaurant has built a reputation for its rich broths, extensive dipping options, and entertaining table-side service (no longer an option now), but it also offers elaborate takeout and delivery options, with ordering available through apps such as GrubHub, Uber Eats, and DoorDash.
John Howie Steak
In addition to a shortened menu of meaty items for curbside pickup and its own meticulously-orchestrated delivery service, Bellevue’s high-end steakhouse has a variety of butcher’s boxes, which feature USDA prime chuck, sausages, porterhouses, ribeyes, and more. Prices range from $159 to $249 to feed up to four.
Dough Zone Dumpling House
The local mini chain is known for its soup dumplings, tangy pickled string beans, and crispy and juicy jian buns, now for takeout and delivery through Caviar. There are also frozen dumpling options available.
Vivi Pizzeria
Those looking for a pizza and wine night in Woodinville may want to look up this spot by the Hollywood Schoolhouse. It’s full menu is available for takeout and, due to its proximity to local wineries, there’s a fairly robust selection of bottles to-go at a discount. Delivery for food is available via apps like Uber Eats and DoorDash.
Tipsy Cow
Located right in downtown Redmond (with a second location in Woodinville), this is the Eastside’s gourmet burger place. The lengthy menu offers plenty of fantastic options, including the Beast Mode, with buffalo meat, and the Winemaker, with brie and sprouts. Available for takeout with online preordering.
