Whether steamed, boiled, pan-fried, or even deep-fried, dumplings make for an excellent comfort food. The dish doesn’t always travel well, but many shops in Seattle are adjusting to takeout and delivery realities, offering limited menus of the most sturdy types and even including some frozen option. Here are a few of the best options around the area, listed from north to south. Since services shift often now, it’s best to call ahead to confirm hours.

All places offer takeout, some delivery, and a handful have onsite seating, with services noted. This should not be taken as endorsement for dining in, as there are still safety concerns: for updated information on local coronavirus cases, please visit the official King County’s COVID page. Studies indicate that there is a lower exposure risk when outdoors, but the level of risk involved with patio dining is contingent on restaurants following strict social distancing and other safety guidelines.
