As Seattle restaurants continue to adjust to the COVID-19 pandemic and the state of Washington’s incremental reopening plans, taco spots remain a vital part of the food scene. The dish makes for a great grab-and-go item, and there are places now offering build-your-own kits for delivery as well (some are also offering dine-in service). Here are some of the best options across the city (and outlying areas). Since services and opening hours shift often these days, so call ahead to make sure each restaurant or food truck is still open — and if you see any changes, or if there’s a spot you’d like to see on the list, send us a tip.

Where to Get Terrific Tacos in Seattle for Takeout and Delivery
From tacos campechanos to carnitas to birria, there’s plenty of variety all over the area

La Conasupo Restaurant and Market
Those needing to stock up on groceries can hit this Greenwood market, which also doubles as a restaurant serving up made-to-order specialties like enormous carnitas tacos, available for takeout. Call (206) 782-0533 for up-to-date hours.
Gracia
The tacos at this popular Ballard spot celebrate local and sustainable meat and seafood and come on masa made from Oaxaca-grown heirloom corn. Currently, there are a few special options like a takeout-friendly taco kit for two, plus menu staples like lengua or carnitas tacos. Delivery is available via various apps, but some items (read: tacos) are only available for walk-up ordering.
El Camino
This Fremont restaurant now has curbside pickup with online orders, including shrimp and fish taco plates (made with wild sockeye salmon), as well as margarita kits. Limited on-site dining is an option too, with an expanded patio.
Tacos Chukis (multiple locations)
The tacos at this chainlet are all good, especially the pork adobada topped with grilled pineapple. All of Chukis’ locations — South Lake Union, Beacon Hill, Capitol Hill, and Central District — offer curbside pickup on online orders. Tacos Chukis has also been active in serving local health care workers.
Carmelos Tacos
Tucked away inside Capitol Hill’s Hillcrest Market, this Mexico City-style taqueria has been a hidden gem for years, serving up tacos like campechano, featuring chorizo, steak, and potato, and vegan versions with mushrooms, refried beans, guajillo chili, and onions. It’s open for takeout daily from noon to 9 p.m., with delivery via various apps (no dine-in — it’s located in a convenience store, after all).
Mezcaleria Oaxaca
Though the usually-bustling dining room on E Pine St is closed temporarily, Mezcaleria’s new takeout window is still chugging along, serving a variety of tacos, including asada, pastor, suadero, and halibut. There are also margaritas and michelada kits to-go, as well as a selection of fine mezcals.
Little Neon Taco
Chef Monica Dimas’s celebrated Mexican restaurant on First Hill has added curbside pickup and no-contact delivery with a selection of taco meals, from carnitas to mole to chorizo, and more. On-site dining is an option too, including a small patio. There are also some bottles available from Capitol Hill’s trendy natural wine bar La Dive, and the occasional Taco Bell twist.
Carnitas Michoacan
Known as one of the better value meals around South Seattle, this small operation serves its namesake dish with a variety of excellent salsa and sides. Delivery is available through various apps (GrubHub, Seamless) and diners can also stock up on groceries at the nearby butcher shop, La Esperanza.

Othello Station’s sensational spot serves soft Northern Chihuahua-style tacos. It’s currently taking online orders for pickup (delivery is available via most apps), offering a thorough menu of tacos, tamales, burritos, and more, plus build-your-own taco kits. Hours are somewhat limited: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday to Saturday.
El Catrin
This White Center standout serves a bright, robust array of tacos — from beef cheek to carnitas to chicharron and beyond. The restaurant adjusted its hours from Tuesday to Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. for takeout service; orders are accepted online, too.

Taqueria la Fondita
This inexpensive, stationary food truck in White Center is one of the Seattle area’s best. Plates pile up with carne asada, adobada, and lengua tacos, and a special request for extra grilled mini-onions and spicy Serrano peppers is key. The truck is still open during regular business hours, but encourages diners to call ahead and order; delivery is available via DoorDash and other apps.
Birrieria Tijuana (multuple locations)
Burien’s taco counter inside a Mexican supermarket specializes in birria tacos, which involve slow-cooked, shredded beef topped with gooey mozzarella inside fried tortillas, best washed down with a refreshing horchata. Both this and the Lakewood location have takeout service — there’s also a new location in Everett.
