Where to Order Thanksgiving Food Takeout in Seattle, for Hosts and Guests Alike
From wonderfully decadent pies to an all-vegan feast
Coyle’s connects a solid foundation in French technique with ingredients that are in season in the PNW. On Thanksgiving, that means offerings such as a pumpkin pie with the main ingredient roasted in-house, a pecan pie with chocolate and bourbon, and apple and almond galettes. Coyle’s is also selling pie supplies and some back-at-home cream currant scones for those who something a little more DIY.
Maple Leaf’s major meat purveyor (an Eater 38 spot) doesn’t focus on turkey, but those looking for other types of protein will have plenty of choices around Thanksgiving, including rib roast. Maybe the most helpful offering is that the Shambles will custom make a party-ready charcuterie spread for customers that come in with their own boards, no matter how large or small.
Eater Seattle’s 2018 chef of the year Eric Rivera hopes to take the stress out of cooking a turkey. The Addo team plan to brine, cure, and truss 10-20 pound pre-ordered birds, throwing in sauces, casseroles, and stocks as well ($60; available for pickup on November 26 and 27). Rivera also asks all those who buy a turkey from him to donate the cost to a charity of their choosing.
A la Mode Pies
The pies at this Phinney Ridge bakery (which also has a West Seattle location) are among Seattle’s best — and there’s an all-star lineup of sweets for Thanksgiving. Among the options available for pickup November 27 and 28 are an apple and ginger pear pie, a marionberry hazelnut pie, and something called Cookies and Scream, a decadent creation with chocolate graham cracker crust, chocolate sandwich cookies, and dark chocolate custard. All are $32.
Hood Famous Bakeshop
Those looking for a little bit of a different dessert vibe should try out this well-regarded Ballard bakery, specializing in Filipino treats. Among the holiday items are the signature ube cheesecake, a buko pie (creamy coconut custard, and a cheesecake piece assortment party platter, which has flavors such as mango calamansi, Vietnamese coffee, and white chocolate guava. Order by November 22.
Brothers and Co.
These farmers market masters offer sides and proteins sourced locally, including honey roasted Tonnemaker kabocha squash, Sno-Valley mushrooms with charred leeks and sherry, and braised Olsen Farms pork belly. Each dish will serve about 4-6 people, and prices range from $16-52. Customers can place orders for one or more dishes on the website and pick them up at the University Heights Center November 26, from 4 to 7 p.m., or November 2, from 4 to 8 p.m.
Eden Hill Provisions
Star chef Maximillian Petty’s family-friendly new restaurant is offering a basket of goods for those looking to make an impression as a dinner guest. The baskets include six fresh yeast brioche rolls (a Petty family recipe), tomato jam, whipped cultured butter, and a bottle of Swick Miura 2018 (a medium-bodied red). Orders must be picked up on November 27, from 12 to 4 p.m.
Chef Makini Howell’s Capitol Hill standout features sophisticated vegan takes on a variety of cuisines. Thanksgiving-wise, the menu — available for pickup on November 27 and 28 — includes maple glazed seitan roast, cornbread stuffing, and ginger cranberry pear sauce. Those who really want to go all out can order an entire plant-based smorgasbord that feeds 8-10 people for $266.
The chefs at this acclaimed Central District restaurant are offering a limited amount of mesquite-smoked turkey (12 to 14 pounds), with sides of mashed potatoes, yams, and green beans. Prices range from $190 for 8-10 people, all the way up to $290 for a premium feast, which includes two pounds of glazed ham and a rack of ribs for up to 14 people. The last day to order is November 22, and meal pickup is Thanksgiving Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Every year, this celebrated SoDo barbecue spot puts a bunch of herb-brined turkeys in its giant smoker and sells them. About 120 are available this year, each weighing between 12-16 pounds (priced at $9 per pound). and can be picked up between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. There are also sides and toppings available, such as garlic truffle mashed potatoes, apple sage dressing, and pecan pie.
This West Seattle bakery — with outposts in Burien and Capitol Hill as well — has landed on Eater’s list of best bakeries in the city. For the holidays, it’s offering a variety of classic treats, including chocolate pecan pie, pumpkin cheesecake, and stollen (a German bread filled with candied citrus, cranberries, almonds, marzipan, and almond butter). Orders need to be in by November 24, with pickup on November 27 up until 7 p.m.
