During Seattle Restaurant Week, which runs now through October 27, diners at over 150 participating restaurants can get a 3-course meal for $28. People love Restaurant Week. Unfortunately, past things which people have loved also include beheading innocent civilians without due process of law, and also Snuggies, so it's safe to say that most people can't be trusted to know what's good.
The fact is that while the public loves Restaurant Week, the people who actually work in the restaurants hate it: the tips are lousy. The menus are dumbed-down. And it's impossible to get a reservation. In fact, some nefarious assholes will book multiple reservations, at the same time, but at different restaurants, decide which one to go to, and then skip out on the others without cancelling first! Those savages!
While most of Seattle's finest dining rooms are participating in Restaurant Week, there are still plenty of awesome places that aren't. And to head off your inevitable complaint that you can't get a three course meal for $28 at the places that don't do Restaurant Week, I've complied menus at every place on this list that do, in fact, allow you to eat a three course meal for $28. Obviously, my idea of a "course" has been distorted wildly, mostly because I'm lazy, but that's your problem.
So without further ado, here are a dozen really really delicious restaurants, all of which get the SMFG Seal of Approval, who AREN'T PARTICIPATING IN RESTAURANT WEEK! That whispered "awesome" you just heard involuntarily came from your own lips.
